Annoying Winter

I’m already tired of Winter!  This is a problem.  We haven’t even gotten to February yet, where Winter is supposed to be at its worst.  Christmas should totally be in February, but I digress.

Sometimes, Winter makes me ask hard questions.

Why would God allow a storm on a Sunday that prevents His people from gathering together to worship Him?

I suppose we still did, it was just in smaller numbers in our homes that day.

I don’t usually get answers to these types of questions when I ask them.  The reason for that would be found in Isaiah 55:8-9.  I’m using the NIV.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.

Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

The truth of it is, we aren’t in control of a single thing.  God is the one who allows things to happen.  A lot of it is things He doesn’t even like, because people make foolish decisions in an attempt to solve thier problems without asking HIm what He would do first.  Understanding what God allows every little thing that doesn’t necenssarily make sense to us now, or possibly ever, is not as important as knowing Him period.
