Tomorrow at around 11:00 AM, many people will gather in churches across the continent and hold services remembering the veterans of World War I and II. These soldiers sacrificed themselves for everyone else living in their respective countries. They fought so we could be free without having to fight for it ourselves. These war veterans should be remembered for what they did forever. That’s why it’s called Remembrance Day.
In Christian circles, this holiday has two purposes. One to honour the fallen soldiers who fought for our freedom. Another to honour the ultimate fallen soldier, Jesus Christ, who fought for our total freedom that day on the cross when he died freely for our sins and rose again, conquering both sin and death so that we wouldn’t have to die ourselves as we deserve. We can be free from sin because of Christ.
