2014 Teams To Watch: Roush Fenway Racing

The “enemy” of Hendrick Motorsports.  Roush Fenway Racing has had dismal seasons for the last few years.  The brightest point was Carl Edwards’ 2011 run against Tony Stewart where they tied in points (Tony won by a tie breaker).

Since then the organization as a whole seems to have gone down hill.  This came to light after the 2012 season when Matt Kenseth, the longtime leader of the driver lineup, announced that he would be leaving them for the “other enemy” team, Joe Gibbs Racing.

Now the team’s most veteran driver is Greg Biffle.  He’s had decent runs, but the finishes just didn’t add up.  Carl Edwards had two wins in the most recent campaign…but ended up finishing 12th in final points at the end of the 2013 season.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. won Rookie of the Year honours this season, and a pole.  However, other than that, he didn’t have much luck.

They need something special to happen in 2014.  Perhaps the new Ford nose that is in development will help.
