To use a computer keyboard as a MIDI controller in FL Studio, you can enable the “Typing keyboard to piano keyboard” option in the MIDI Settings.
Steps
- Open FL Studio
- Go to Options
- Select MIDI Settings
- Find the Typing keyboard to piano keyboard option
- Enable the option
You can also use the Typing Keyboard to Piano Keyboard option to play chords. To do this, right-click the Typing Keyboard to Piano Keyboard button. You can then select a chordmap, such as Major Chordmap, to play chords.

- If you have a MIDI keyboard, you can set it up in FL Studio by following these steps:
- Connect the keyboard to your computer with a USB cable
- Connect the keyboard to your computer with a USB cable
- Open FL Studio
- Go to Options
- Select MIDI Settings
- Make sure your keyboard is listed in the Input section
- Enable your keyboard
- MIDI is a control-data connection that doesn’t transmit audio.
