FL Studio Computer Keyboard to MIDI

To use a computer keyboard as a MIDI controller in FL Studio, you can enable the “Typing keyboard to piano keyboard” option in the MIDI Settings. 

Steps 

  1. Open FL Studio
  2. Go to Options
  3. Select MIDI Settings
  4. Find the Typing keyboard to piano keyboard option
  5. Enable the option
You can also use the Typing Keyboard to Piano Keyboard option to play chords. To do this, right-click the Typing Keyboard to Piano Keyboard button. You can then select a chordmap, such as Major Chordmap, to play chords. 

Additional tips
  • If you have a MIDI keyboard, you can set it up in FL Studio by following these steps:
    1. Connect the keyboard to your computer with a USB cable 
  • Open FL Studio 
  • Go to Options 
  • Select MIDI Settings 
  • Make sure your keyboard is listed in the Input section 
  • Enable your keyboard 
  • MIDI is a control-data connection that doesn’t transmit audio.
