Henry was the best part of this movie. The writing was inredibly sub par compared to the Christian Bale Batman series. Ben Afflek was trying really hard to be him and failing. Man of Steel was also much better, and they had only finished doing that one three years ago. Trying to make Alfred hip was not the best decision. Henry goes to the fortress of solitude to see…Kevin Cosner? The character they did get right was Lex Luther. You’re not supposed to take him seriously. They should have just pushed him off the high place when they had the obvious chance, before he could unleash DC’s version of the Hulk. Batman doesn’t shoot people with guns. If they could have gotten Christian Bale and Michael Cane to reprise their roles like everyone else did on the Superman side, maybe everyone would have stepped up. How can they not realize thait they’re on the same side? “We’re going to fight eachother becaue both our mom’s names are Martha!” Yes, that’s really convincing. And then Wonder Woman appears out of nowhere. They were trying to cram too many storylines together and made less out of more. Disappointing. You have great characters and they get ruined. Look at the poster for the movie. Ben did so bad at playing Batman, they don’t even want to put his logo in a place where you can see it. “This is a Superman series Feat. Batman.” Wait… there it is…hidden underneath Superman, because Henry was better. This was even more confusing than Dune…and I watch a lot of super hero movies these days. Two and a half hours of this. I can’t get it back. I’ll have to try better next time. When you watch with a friend you can make fun of things and point stuff out. That was the redeeming factor. Other than Henry being as good as he could be with the writing he was given. I think I’ve made my point by now.
