The 25 years later sequel to Braveheart
- For a movie that was supposed to take place one year after the other one finished, you can definitely tell that the main character aged a lot.
- He tells his army guys to desert him on purpose.
- Some of them try to kill him.
- He hides in a cave for a while and watches a spider spin a web.
- Then he decides he has to fight to help Scotland be Scotland. William Wallace never actually liberated them. Even though he died so crazily.
- He kills his main nemesis at the very beginning, and then hides in the woods with a family that help him heal from his wounds.
- He teaches the kids how to use bow and arrows.
- The bad guys go around the countryside screaming “ROBERT!” Until someone gets tired of the screaming and tells them where he is.
- The evil sheriff has the hots for the mom. Tries to (fortunately unsuccessfully) rape her in the snow. As if she would go for that. What was he thinking?
- Robert then chooses that moment to explain that they are under his protection because they were actual family to him when he needed one.
- The bad guys fight the family and Robert. The family and Robert manage to win, but one of the girls is killed unnecessarily. They have to bury her.
- Robert and the folks hook up with other clans, who fight one last time for Scottish independence.
- Who sends an 11 year old boy into battle (that we don’t even see in the movie) who has just barely learned to use a bow. Of course he was going to die and the Mom was going to be even more sad.
- I expected more out of this one. It probably wasn’t even historically accurate if Braveheart is anything to go by.
