Nobody has ever been able to do the math and score in thier head. There’s lots of 3s and 8s for those Earnhardt fans. The true bearers of the sport now and forever.
This also hinges on having a full season and no playoffs. Lots of possibilities to catch up, and because we’re being so generous with points, anyone can end up with a good looking number of points by the end of the year, unless you finish dead last every time.
