After starting 27th that fateful day, Kurt Busch had the daunting task of passing the 26 cars in front of him (and not allowing any to pass him) on the world’s toughest, fastest half mile in Bristol Tennessee. By the end of the race Kurt Busch finds himself in second place, with only his arch nemesis, Jimmy Spencer left to deal with. (They had a sort of major feud going on stemming from the year before). Busch gets to the back bumper of Spencer and moves him out of the way (literally…that’s how you do it at Bristol) in order to take the lead. He never looked back and Kurt Busch would get his first ever NASCAR Cup series win. After that chaos ensued.
