I’m sure it’s probably too early for some of you to read this yet, but I went through all ten episodes of The Crew in a few days. This is the first Kevin James sitcom I’ve watched all the way through. I think it’s pretty safe to say that this series will not last another season because in one of the earlier episodes they said that Kevin’s character would be fired by the end of the season. The Ryan Blaney cameos were definitely the funniest part of the whole thing. They kept me coming back. I had to see how this thing panned out. It’s really cool that they are trying to bring the world of NASCAR to a wider audience. However, I was expecting to see more racing thn I did. Something about Days of Thunder and Talladega Nights set the bear really high for me. The cast seemed to get along well enough with eachother, but when Kevin suddenly falls for an engaged Beth just after trying to be in a relationship with the Fake Steak owner, Morgan, it diidn’t make sense to me. Neither did the whole part where Jake and Carolyn get together right at the end. Perhaps my problem was that I had been overthinking this whole plot. I believe the key to really enjoying this series is to not think, and to not expect to see much actual racing. Those types of things are really expensive to film anyway. If you have half an hour to kill and don’t want to think at all, The Crew is the sit com for you.
