Time passed, both Nicole and Alison continued to grow bigger and bigger. Ted and Lawson were busy in all of their free time, constructing the best nurseries they could for their respective furture human occupants. Endless laundry and sanitation were the norm.
The women busied themselves with their day jobs and frequent phone calls. On one such day, Nicole’s phone rang.
“Hello, Nicole!” Alison chirped.
“Hello, Alison.” Nicole chortled.
“Want to spend some quality time together and see a movie?” Alison clucked.
“Sure, when do you want me to pick you up?” Nicole cackled.
“Just drive by, I’ll see you!” Alison responded
“Good enough.” Nicole deadpanned
Nicole rushed out of the house. This would be a great break from the noise and the never ending pounding as Ted was finishing up baseboards around the nursery.
Nicole arrived at Alison’s house only to be surrounded by the same sounds she had just left.
“No worries.” Alison said, thinking her thoughts before she could articulate them. “We have surround sound. Are you ready for the birthing video?”
“You want to watch a birthing video, with me, in surround sound?” Nicole deadpanned in a questioning sort of way.
“It’ll get us good and prepared for the real life situation.” Allison said delightedly.
“You are too excited for this.” Nicole stated.
They settled in for the horror show.
The screaming was larger than life. The woman on screen was using muscles Nichole didn’t know were available to the common human. With every ounce of effort she brought forth a son…and Nicole brought forth her breakfast.
“I’m never letting Ted touch me like that again!” Nicole said as if it was a command.
“Don’t worry, we’re going through this together.” Alison reassured.
“Don’t worry? Look at all the blood and other stuff!” Nicole shrieked. “What have we gotten ourselves into?”
“The circle of life.” Alison responded, calmly.
“I was afraid of that.” Nicole said, resigned to her fate.
At this point, Nicole excused herself from Alison’s presence. She threw up in the front yard for good measure, and proceeded to head home. Nicole had a lot to think about.
