The #22 is 2 For 2 – Undefeated At The Moment

Kurt Busch, Driver of the Penske Racing #22 Shell/Pennzoil Dodge has been dominant at Daytona so far. He’s won the Bud Shootout bonus race last Saturday, and today he just won his qualifying race to secure himself a third place start in the big race. (The top two fastest cars during regular qualifying were already locked in) and due to the original Pole Sitter, Dale Earnhardt Jr. wrecking his primary car in practice on Wednesday (Dale will have to start at the back of the field) that means the entire inside line moves up one row, putting Kurt Busch on the pole. It has been clear throughout the last week that Kurt has one of the best cars he’s ever had at Daytona.

Busch has won every event he has entered in since the season unofficially started (It officially starts with the Daytona 500 this Sunday) Can Kurt Busch keep the momentum rolling and translate all of this dominance into the biggest win of his career? I hope so, but it’s the Daytona 500 and anything can happen, that being said if he doesn’t get taken out by some crazy other driver, Kurt Busch will be a threat to win “The Great American Race.” This one will be fun to watch!
