It has been a while since I wrote for this series, but I don’t recall ever saying it was done.
Two nights ago, Gene exclaimed that he was finding nasty small brown things in his bed. He was concerned. Obviously.

Each hour it seemed he would find a few more. I automatically go into research mode, having never had this problem come up before. Unfortunately this took us down a bunch of unhelpful rabbit holes, as the internet can do. What kind of crazy insect is laying these eggs? How big is this infestation really?
Internet: “You could have bed bugs, or stick bugs, or weevles… we don’t know!”
I even went as far as dissecting one to see what sort of creature might crawl out of there. After all they kept appearing. Nothing crawled out. Nothing bled. Nothing hissed at me I returned to my room, while Gene repeated his new mantra. “I GOTTA find out what these things are and where they are coming from.”
I return to my room which is not infested with these brown bean shaped egg things at all. I think about it for what seems like a longer time than someone should think about such a thing.
Then, it hits me. Gene has a bean bag for the days that his back just sucks. He heats it up in the microwave and finds relief.
I wander over to the kitchen and see Gene’s large bean bag sitting next to the microwave. I examine it, and lo there was a hole! I reach into the belly of the beast and pull out a strange brwon bean. The very same shape as the strange things we had been finding around the apartment.
I show this new discovery to Gene and he patches the hole with some tape.

I wish all ‘infestations” were this easy.
