Thoughts On The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

I got nominated for the ALS Ice Bucket challenge yesterday when I was on vacation and didn’t find out about it til my 24 hour window had already elapsed.  That means I don’t have to do it, right?

I’m not a big fan of taking part in internet sensations that involve dumping things on yourself.  Everyone has been doing this for at least a month already and it seems to have lost all meaning.  What does ice and water have to do with ALS?

Also only  27% of your donation actually funds the search for a cure.  Why not use all the money.

ALS is a terrible disease, but we’re going about curing it the wrong way.
