I am left handed and blind as a bat. That’s two things against me. In grade primary, I saw all my friends writing right handed and assumed I was doing it wrong. So I switched for all of thirty seconds, and then my teacher came over and scolded me…for writing right handed… “You don’t have to do it like that! You’re set up opposite! It’s not bad at all!” So I never tried to write right handed ever again. Also, my writing never improved in neatness since then. Many a teacher found it heard to decode. Once I learned how to type, I realized I could be as neat as everyone else. It was a game changer. Some old folks still get upset that I don’t write out Christmas cards whith my actual handwriting, but that’s not really a drawback to me. What’s more important? Having the “personal touch?” or being legible. I’d pick legible every time.
