TMH Chapter 5: That Time I Had A Mow Hawk

I think I was 18 or something like that.  I had been involved in my Church’s youth group.  I was in our local youth band.  We were kind of awesome most of the time.  Sometimes, we would go to bigger events with other youth groups.  The biggest event of the year was called Springforth at the time.  (Now they have a different name since they are even bigger).  All the youth groups from the whole region would go.  There was an actual band and a lot of songs and speakers and workshops.  You would try your best to sleep in the over night part between Friday and Saturday but it would never happen.  The drives there and back were always fun too. It’s even more fun than what I’m describing here.

Anyway, two of my friends had mow hawks and they really wanted me to get one too.  The whole drive up they kept badgering me  “You gotta get a MOW HAWK!”  Non stop.  They were relentless and would not talk about anything else.  On and on and on.  Eventually I had enough hearing about this and let them do it to me.  I didn’t really like how it turned out, but we were a team of three that whole weekend.  In spite of me wrestling the bigger one to the ground at one point in frustration.

I am always responsible for all of my own actions.  Looking back, I could have kept saying no.  It’s true.

On Saturday night, when I got home, one of my Church friends who’s career is hair came over and chopped it off and evened everything out so I could start over.  I was bald for a while, but after that everything was back to normal.
