W1 Chapter 5: Alone On A Sandbar

Kory suddenly found himself alone on a sandbar overlooking the ocean.  Ahead of him floating not even close to majestically in the water was some sort of excuse for a ship.

“What do you want me to do now, Oedipus?”  Kory deadpanned.

“Get on that ship!”  Oedipus exclaimed.  “They’ve got some sort of illegal thing they are transporting.

“Wouldn’t you guys know what the illegal thing is?”  Kory asked.

“That’s where you come in.”  Oedipus said.  “Find a way to blend in.”

Kory knew it would be too obvious and also a lot of dead weight  if he swam over there in his suit.  It was the nicest suit he had ever worn and he was leaving it on the beach.  Departing the sandbar with only his radio and everything he was given just at the moment of his birth, Kory waided into the water.   It was slightly colder than it could have been.  Perhaps the shock factor would give him an advantage if he was caught.  Then he remembered that most of the pirates were probably men.  Then he hoped there wasn’t a shock factor.

Climbing up a scummy latter on the back of the ship, he read her name.  “The She Monster.”

Kory thought that was both clever and sad at the same time.

Peering over the rail he saw a lone man keeping watch over the stern.  He was about his height and build.  As much as Kory hated the idea of wearing another man’s clothes, he hated being naked more.  Doing a back flip over the rail, Kory kicked the unsuspecting pirate in the head, knocking him out.  Kory quickly changed into the man’s clothes and dumped the body overboard.  If he wasn’t dead from the kick, he would be now.  Kory quickly made his way deep into the bowels of the ship.  This would be where he would start.  He thought the best way to remain on his job was to fake that he was in charge of inventory.  This way he could search things more easily and get an understanding of the ship.  He also needed to make frineds with the crew over the course of time.  For now he would hide in a stack of barrells and start searching for anythign strange.  Kory would make himself part of the crew whether he liked it or not.

“Can’t you just fly some helicopters in?”  Kory asked.

“Nope.  We need proof.”  Oedipus said.

Kory was afraid this would be a goose chase.  Never the less he continued searching.
