Kory arrived at the restaurant. He saw his mark immediately. Hard to hide tentacles.
“I’m here for my blind date.” Kory said enthusiastically.
“Good start.” Oedipus whispered in his ear.
“Calm down, bud.” Kory whispered back more firmly.
“Talking to yourself?” The Lady in black asked.
“Yes. I do that.” Kory said.
“It’s ok. I’m not going to ditch you over that.” The Lady said. “I’m Claire. What’s your name?”
“I’m Kory.” Kory said with a smile. This was going well.
The two spent the rest of the evening eating clams and learning all about each other. He learned about her love for board games. She learned about his penchant for books. When it was time for the bill, Kory paid for everything. Claire appreciated that and did not look at him with contempt at all. She invited him to go for a drive with her in her black super car. They drove around town and saw all the sights that Kory had never bothered to look at, spending all his time in the subway for all those years.
“Hurry up!” Oedipus screamed in his ear. “We need to get to the bottom of why she’s making people sick!”
“Shut up. I’m having the time of my life. Not yours.” Kory said.
After the drive, Claire invited Kory to her house. Collapsing on the couch they talked more and had some snacks. They began to cuddle. Kory had never experienced that and began to dry heave.
“Get to it!” Oedipus screamed.
“Stop cramping my style!” Kory screamed.
“Such passion!” Claire screamed back. “You’re so cute. Are you talking to your…”
“Yes. I do that too.” Kory said.
Claire began to hold Kory. Kory began to throw up in his mouth, even though he really liked being held by Claire.
“Ask her why she’s making people sick!” Oedipus screamed.
“Stop talking to me!” Kory screamed back. “I’m in love, and I’m going to do what it takes to stay that way. Even if I have to leave WRAITH. It’s time I answered to myself for a change!”
At that moment Kory ripped out his ear plugs and microphone out of sheer frustration.
“Yes, It’s true. I love you, Claire! I know it’s quick, but my life has been going one way for so long that it’s time for a change. I work for a spy agency called WRAITH. It’s known for being the most secretive but it’s really located in an abandoned hotel at 679 Two Willows Avenue down town. My mission was to figure out why you’re killing people and bring you in alive. Now that I know you, I’d rather a much different outcome.”
Claire spat in his face, causing Kory to cough uncontrollably.
“I kill people because I’m evil and I hate them.” Claire explained, shoving her tentacles down Kory’s throat. He threw up all of his insides immediately and died there on the spot. Claire proceeded to tear him limb from limb until he was unrecognizable as a human being. Then, she left her bed. There was more business to take care of.
