This section is an anecdote that happened to me recently. It would be more fitting in the Life Through A Thicker Lens collection, but that book is finished, so I will place it here for your brief entertainment.
I was helping out at an after school program as I often do. One of my colleagues came to me holding a candle. He asked if it should stay lit or be blown out. I immediately go to blow it out, only to realize after the action has already been done that it was an electric candle with an on/off switch. I start laughing immediately.
My point with this story is It’s ok to laugh at yourself and your deteriorating vision from time to time. It makes you fun to be around, and the transition to complete blindness or whatever comes next is not so bleak.
