Eye Robot

Canadian documentary maker Rob Spence, who lost his right eye six years ago, demonstrates his camera eye which fits into his right eye socket.
The camera was built by his friend and engineer Kosta Grammatis and attaches to a coupling device which was fitted into the socket after his natural eye was removed.
The eye camera moves in tandem with his remaining eye and sends pictures wirelessly to a monitor.
Here, he demonstrates the eye and talks about he has was inspired by science fiction.
Rob Spence lost the eye after his vision deteriorated over many years following a shooting accident sustained when he was nine years old.

It’s neat to see how far “medical procedures” or ideas have come along for people who are completely blind in one or both eyes.
