Many articles have been written about this, so there’s no need to summarize what went down. Will Smith smacked Chris Rock after Chris made fun of Will Smith’s wife. Chris should not have made fun of Will Smith’s wife. If you make fun of anyone’s wife, you should be ready to accept whatever consequences come your way. No matter how ill-conceived said consequences are.
At the same time, Will should not have smacked Chris. How was that going to solve anything on live TV when everything is open to interpretation, no matter how straight forward things are.
They both did silly things. Consequences have happened and are definitely deserved. You shouldn’t make fun of someone else’s wife, and you also shouldn’t go around slapping people.
The fact that this story has been in the news for a whole week proves just how bored the human race has become. We’ll latch onto every headline and milk it for as long as we can, when the folks involved just want to apologize and move on with their lives. 
There’s nothing else to say, but let’s see how long we can talk about the same thing and keep people interested. Yeah! That’s a great idea.
