Joshua is gone. In his place, Israel has Judges appointed to help them keep following the Lord. Often times this involved doing crazy things to keep them from straying. Even though they promised things to Joshua, that they would keep serving the Lord. It turns out that these promises aren’t so easy to keep. Even the judges themselves, who were supposed to have some authority over Israel had trouble keeping on the narrow road. God is still King of Kings. None of this phases him. This is a book that feels like, to me, that there’s never a dull moment. Let’s get into it.
